Several sensors within your vehicle’s computer sensor system could cause your check engine light to go off. Sometimes, the check engine light can go off for something as minor as the gas cap being loose or missing. At Z’s Car Care, we’ll do a diagnostic reading of the sensors that could alert us of any major issues. Among them could be vacuum leaks that cause poor performance, bad O2 sensors, or bad mass airflow sensors that measure the air that enters the engine. We’ll also check to see if it’s caused by any emission component failures that could be malfunctioning and causing the check engine light to go off. It’s our standard to go beyond looking to see which of the sensors in your car triggers the check engine light. We’ll also perform a full inspection to get to the bottom of the issue. Along the way, we’ll be able to explain our findings to help you fully understand the full scope of the diagnosis, whether it’s as small as the gas cap being loose or something as big as the need for a catalytic converter replacement. Or, it could be alerting you to check your engine, emissions, or even something within the catalytic converter. If your light is flashing, get it to the shop immediately.
